Why do I use Linux?

It’s very interesing question. Now I have two operating systems on my home computer. These are Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Linux Mint (Ubuntu-based Linux distributive).

So, let’s try to answer «Why do I have Windows?» At first, for my mother. She is a conservative person. She doesn’t want to study anything new, she just wants to switch on computer, play Solitair, type in Microsoft Word. She knows it and she thinks only this stuff can be useful. At second, I have Windows for video-editing. I tried to install needable soft for editing on Linux, but it was less usebale for me. That side I use WinXP and Avid Xpress Pro HD.

Why do I use Linux like the main OS? One time I spotted that viruses ate my computer. I lost a lot of information. I was shocked. But Madnrake Linux helped to me. Then I figured out a lot of minuses in it. Long time I used Win only. But few monthes ago I founded new distr of Linux and made sure it’s good. It’s simple, beautiful, quick, has no viruses, etc. So, now it’s my first and main operating system for work. Mabe I have lower queries for my computer, but Linux makes all of it.
