New edition of Law of Media in Belarus is coming soon

All Belarusian journalists are waiting. We try to predict what will happen, how will we work and will we have chances to stay independent press?

You just look. New identity press cards we will be able to get only through cabinet. We will have registration of web-sites of local press and its content must be the same as newspaper's has, etc.

It's a horrible product of our government, it shows all that junk that collected in brains of out state "leaders".

Here is some unpleasant articles of the law.

1. This Law makes its target to rule work of Internet-press, main decisions will agree by government.

2. Article #6 "Prohibit to monopolize any media" has not real mechanisms of fight with monopolization and concentration in media.

3. Second part of 8th article "Funding of media" will prohibit to get funds from foreign organizations.

4. Subpara 1.5 of 1st para of fifteenth article "Base to refuse state registration of media" provides prohibition in getting credits in foreign banks.

5. Para 5 of article #17 "How to spread media" contraries international law commitments of Belarus.

And it's just a small part of various cretins' articles of law.
